FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome!
We are honored to be part of your journey toward better health. Here are some commonly asked questions from our patients.

1. How do I make an appointment?

Please call our main number: (972) 899-2271.

If we call you from a back line, please do not save that number. Our clinic phones are largely handled off-site so we can focus on in-clinic patients. If we miss your call, please leave a message, and our staff will call you back.

We encourage scheduling your follow-up appointment during your visit so you have one done in advance.

2. How do I get my prescription refills?

Dr. Raj prefers to send prescriptions to your pharmacy at your visit, ensuring you have enough medication until your next appointment. If you missed your appointment and are urgently low on medication, please call the number above. If it’s not urgent, have your pharmacy send a refill request via fax.

3. How can I get the most out of my visit?

  • Be on time so you have more time with the doctor.
  • Stay consistent with your appointments and medications as prescribed.
  • Get your labs done at least two days before your visit whenever possible. This allows more time for discussion and decision-making during your appointment. If this is not possible, staff will contact you with results and a treatment plan.

4. How does your billing work?

Our off-site staff checks online for your copay or deductible status, but we encourage you to know your insurance benefits. If you have a balance from prior visits, please settle it before your next appointment to avoid accumulating debt. We appreciate your support in helping us continue to serve you and the community.

5. Do I need a referral to see Dr. Raj?

A referral is an authorization from your PCP allowing your insurance to cover a specialist visit. Many insurance plans require a referral to see Dr. Raj. Please check with your insurance provider to confirm if you need one.

We must receive the referral by the day of your visit. If we do not have it, you will be billed for the visit. While we try to check referral requirements in advance, this is not always possible.

6. What if I need a Prior Authorization for my medication or medical devices?

A Prior Authorization (PA) is required when a medication or device is not covered by your insurance without additional approval. This is becoming more common.

  • The best option is to switch to a covered alternative medication.
  • If your insurance has sent you a letter about coverage, bring it to your visit so Dr. Raj can recommend an alternative.
  • If no suitable alternative is covered, we will attempt to obtain a PA. Insurance companies require medical records and often review lab results, so staying up to date with your visits and labs is essential.
